The band quickly relocated to an indoor venue and treated the audience to the title track of Gameshow. TDCC have been busy this year playing festivals like Bonnaroo and Governor’s Ball, the latter of which saw their set canceled due to rain. The album is the third in the group’s library, following Tourist History (2010) and Beacon (2012). With the new single comes a release date for Gameshow: Oct. They described the song to NME as “rebelling against ,” going on to say that, “the lyrics play on that and hating how the world is going in terms of commercialism and how people are addicted to social media and living on their phones.” However, the lyrics hold greater meaning to the band. The album is undeniably Pop, but draws on disparate elements including Electronica/Electro, Rock and Afrobeats whilst remaining resolutely fresh and. The track encompasses all that we love already about TDCC: it’s dance-y, light and fun. Two Door Cinema Club have recently received the auspicious nod from the BBC after being named as one of the 15 acts on the BBC Soundpoll as well as featuring in numerous end of year tips for 2010. The single is the first new release from the indie-pop trio since 2013’s Changing of the Seasons EP (not counting their live debut of Gameshow’s title track last week). Two Door Cinema Club debuted the lead single “Are We Ready (Wreck)” from their new album Gameshow last night on Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1.
